Purple Loosestrife ( Lythrum salicaria )

Loosestrife invades submerged lands in springtime. Wildfowl has its natural surroundings stolen by this aggressive beauty.

Common Thistle ? ( Cirsium vulgare.)

Be careful ! Birds of a feather flock together !

       Common burdock ? (Arctium minus)

It clings on places where it should not ! One easely forgets it is a flower !

Common Milkweed ( Asclepias syriaca )

Its high fragrance attracts insects, especially Monarch butterflies.

A close up photo shows a beetle on an element of the cluster.  Its seeds, covered with siky hair, are  enclosed in a large pod.
